Swimming Gala 1961 - from the Boarder July 1961
Rosemary Webb Rehill There was one photo in a local paper of a pool that no way was City of Cov. The picture of the pool in the Coventry Telegraph is the original pool. If you remember there were a new one put in later on. It was enlarged with a wind shield.
The original pool was small. It had cement steps at the shallow end. It also did not have a filtration system. I can picture the maggots quite clearly! The new pool was put in later but I was still only in my teens so it must have been in the 60's. It was bigger and of course, it had a filtration system. There was a shed erected too. I remember the big jugs of chlorine that they used to dump into the original pool. The empty class bottles were under the headmasters office at the end of the hall. (that was Morris/Rowland days).

Bob Sutton Remember new pool fence going up in 67/68.
Trev Teasdel I seem to remember steps in the shallow end so maybe the new one was 67 which is when left.
